World War I Battlefields Tour Itinerary
2010 sees the 91st Anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Versailles and we are offering you the opportunity to explore the WWI battlefields of Flanders and the Somme where over 200,000 Irishmen fought. Guided by a professional historian, the tour follows the main battle sites, cemeteries and memorials of the Flanders and the Somme.
We will also focus on the Irish soldiers involvement with visits to Willie Redmond’s Grave, the 16th Division Memorial, Guillemont, Ulster Tower and the Island of Ireland Peace Park which commemorates the Battle of Messines where the 16th Irish Division and the 36th Ulster Division fought side by side against a common enemy.
