United States West Coast Tour - Sample Itinerary
The earliest key date in the development of Los Angeles is August 2, 1769. It was on that afternoon that a group of Spanish explorers from East, led by Junpiero Serra and Captain Gaspar de Portola, entered what came to be known as Los Angeles, in the area around Elysian Park.
The purpose of the expedition was to establish a trail of missions linking San Diego and San Francisco, known as El Camino Real, or the Royal Road. Navada is home to two mountain ranges, the Sierra Nevada range and the Rocky Mountains, and the Sonoran and Mojave desert. This Sunny state sees only about four inches of rain per year and enjoys mild winters with an average daily temperature of about 60 degrees.
