Join us on this 7 day tour to vibrant Istanbul and the Gallipoli Battlefields and discover an amazing history, magnificent architecture and age old traditions. Accompanied by a professional guide, explore the palaces, mosques and bazaars of Istanbul before continuing on to the battlefields of the Gallipoli, which in 1915 provided the backdrop to untold heroism, endurance and sacrifice. The tour visits ANZAC Cove, Helles Beach and Suvla Bay as well as the new 10th (Irish) Division Memorial at Greenhill Cemetery which remembers the 4,000 Irishmen who died during the campaign. Day 1
Fly from Dublin to Istanbul. Meet your local GTI representative for transfer by executive coach to your 4* hotel. Evening at leisure.
Day 2
Guided Walking tour of Sultanahmet, the soul of Old Istanbul including visits to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Underground Cistern before continuing to the colourful Grand Baazar and Egyption Spice Markets.
Day 3
Enjoy a morning cruise along the picturesque Bosphorus Strait, the dividing stretch of water between Asia and Europe before travelling to the ancient city of Troy. Continue on to Cannakale in Gallipoli.
Day 4
Visit the ANZAC sector of the Gallipoli Battlefields including Brighton Beach, Beach Cemetery, Shrapnel Valley, Anzac Cove, Ari Burnu Cemetery and Lone Pine Memorial.
Day 5
Visit the Helles sector including V Beach Cemetery where so many Dubliners perished, W Beach, Doughty-Wylie's Grave and Helles Memorial.
Day 6
Vist the Suvla Bay sector including the new 10th (Irish) Division Memorial at Green Hill Cemetery, Kirec Tepe Ridge, Azmark Cemetery, Hill 10 and Scimitar Hill Cemetery. Visit the ancient city of Troy for a guided tour of these remarkable excavations before continuing on to Istanbul.
Day 7
This morning transfer to Istanbul Airport for your return flight to Dublin.
