    4nights (2 nights at start and 2 nights at the end)
     
  • Nagarkot is just 30 km east of Kathmandu but a world away sitting on the rim of the valley.
    We will enjoy the sunset and sunrise over the Himalayas. (1 night)

Day 1 - Depart Dublin and fly to Kathmandu via Abu Dhabi.

Day 2 - Arrive Kathmandu airport and transfer to your hotel. Free evening at leisure.

Day 3 - Enjoy a leisurely half day tour of Kathmandu including the bazaar and Durbar Square in the old city.

Day 4 - Depart for Bhaktapur city, City of the Devotees, and visit temples and monuments, the Palace of 55 Windows and the Golden Gate. Continue on to Nagarkot where we will watch the sunset over the Himalayas. 

Day 5 - Early morning walk to the surrounding hills for sunrise over the Himalayas before transferring to Kurintar. Riverside Resort is a very peaceful place far from the city noise. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day 6 - After breakfast we will drive to Gorkha, the home of the infamous Gurka soldiers of the British Regiment and then the palace of Prithvi Naranyan Shah, founder of Nepal. Visit a holy temple which is great Hindu pilgrimage site. Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to the resort. 

Day 7 - After breakfast there is an optional tour by cable car to Manakamana temple to have your wishes fulfilled by the blessing of Goddess Manakama Devi. The locals call the temple goddess the wish fulfilling deity and it is a popular pilgrimage site. Continue on to Pokhara through the amazing countryside.

Day 8 - Early morning drive to Sarankot for sunrise over the famous Annapurna, Fishtail and Dhaulagiri ranges of the Himalaya Mountains. You will see the mountains at a very close range. This afternoon drive to Hemja and visit Tashiling, a Tibetan settlement of refugees where they dye and make carpets. 

Day 9 - This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Pokhara, visiting Phewa lakeside for a boat ride to Barahi Temple and then Davis' Fall, Pokhara Bazaar, Seti Gorge and Bindyabasini Temple. Free time in Pokhara following tour.

Day 10 - Depart for the jungle and wonderful Chitwan National Park via the ethnic Tharu village then on to the Park visitor centre to learn more about the park itself and the wildlife. Enjoy the sunset from the banks of the Rapti River. 

Days 11 - An early morning followed by wonderful nature walks and the excitement of elephant safaris (yes, on the back of an elephant!) searching for the beguiling and rare Royal Bengal Tiger. Also, excellent opportunities to see the endangered rhinoceros, sloth bears, wild boar, monkeys, leopards and birds.

Day 12 - Take a canoe river tour, see cultural dance presentations and visit the elephants bathing and their breeding centre.

Day 13 - Depart Chitwan and return to Kathmandu for free time.

Day 14 - After breakfast visit the famous temple of Pasupatinath, dedicated to Lord Shiva on the bank of the Bagmati River. This is one of the most holy shrines of the Hindus where thousands of devotees come from all over Nepal and India. Next visit Boudhanath, the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. Here you will see Tibetan monks and nuns praying at the monasteries. 

Day 15 - Following a free morning in kathmandu, transfer to the airport for our flight home. Depart Kathmandu, flying via Abu Dhabi for Dublin.

Day 16 - Arrive Dublin at 6.50am
