Itinerary

Day 1

Fly from Dublin to Krakow where you will be met by your tour manager. Transfer by executive coach. Guided sightseeing tour of the old city of Krakow including Wawel Castle which was home to Polish kings and was seat of Polish Royals till the 17th century. The nearby Cathedral which was the coronation place of Polish monarchs and a crypt is the final resting place of many of them. Also visit the famous Oskar Schindler’s factor, a business man who turned his factory into a refuge for Jews, saving many from the notorious Auschwitz Camp. He is remembered worldwide through the Stephen Spielberg movie ‘Schindlers List’.

Day 2
After breakfast visit Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest concentration camp established by the Nazi regime. Created formally as a concentration camp for Polish political prisoners, it became in fact a centre of extermination. Information regarding Auschwitz reached the Allies during 1941-1944, but the claims of mass killings were generally dismissed as exaggerations. This changed with the receipt of a detailed report given by two escaped prisoners, which finally convinced most Allied leaders of the truth about Auschwitz . A few years after World War II the Polish government decided to restore Auschwitz and turn it into a museum remembering the victims of Nazism.
The Wieliczka Salt Mine has been worked for 900 years. It used to be one of the world's biggest and most profitable industrial establishments when common salt was commercially a medieval equivalent of today's oil. Always a magnet, since the mid-18th century Krakow's Wieliczka salt mine has become increasingly a tourist attraction. On your visit, walk nearly 2,000 metres underground in the oldest part of the salt mine and discover its subterranean museum.
