Day 1 Havana
Fly from Dublin to Havana. Your local GTI representative will meet the group in the arrivals hall and escort the group to the coach park. Transfer by bus to the Hotel Sevilla Havana for check in. Dinner at your hotel.
Day 2 Havana
Breakfast at the Hotel Sevilla. Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of historic Havana. The picturesque streets of Old Havana, now protected by UNESCO, reflect the faded glory of this once prosperous city. Sights include the Plaza de Armas, Plaza Vieja, Plaza de la Cathedral, Bishop Street, Central Park, Capitol, the Museum of Rum and the famous Tobacco factory, Partagas. After lunch at own expense, a panoramic tour follows the crystal blue waters of the Malecon coastline on the northern shore of Havana. This popular area revels in the sight of Havana's landmark buildings. Enter the fortress of El Morro, then continue to the modern part of town, visiting the Plaza of the Revolution, the Colon Cemetery and the downtown area of Vedado. This evening after dinner at your hotel enjoy the famous Tropicana Caberet Show, a truly Cuban experience.
Day 3 Havana to Viñales in Pinar del Rio
Breakfast at the Hotel Sevilla. Travel to Viñales, one of Cuba’s greatest natural attractions, declared a National Natural Monument for its remarkable landscapes and great beauty. The Vinales Valley is part of Sierra de los Organos in Pinar del Rio province. It is the finest example of a karst valley in Cuba, where mogotes, knolls with rounded tops and steep slopes, contrast harmoniously with the flat surface of the valley. Deep in the valley are cultivated lands of mainly tobacco, taro and bananas scattered with the houses of the rural community. It is this combination of natural and cultural landscape that won it the category of Landscape view of humanity by UNESCO. Lunch at Palenque de los Cimarrones. Meet with members of the Vinales community during your trip, where you can observe and receive explanation of the activity of coffee and tobacco as well as the environment of the area. Farm visit followed by visit to Verguero House and a Despalillo tobacco factory to learn of tobacco cultivation and production, see Moncada Fort, birthplace of the Cuban revolution and visit the El Indio Caves. Check into Hotel Rancho San Vincente or similar. Dinner at your hotel.
Day 4 Cayo Levisa
Breakfast at your hotel. In the morning departure for excursion to Cayo Levisa. Cayo Levisa, on the north coast of Pinar del Río, is a real natural paradise. Offering an unspoiled environment, the 3km beach of fabulous white sand is washed by a clear sea of countless shades of blue. Lunch at Cayo Levisa is included. Return to the hotel. Dinner at your hotel. Overnight in Vinales.
Day 5 Vinales to Las Terrazas and Havana
Breakfast at your hotel. Departure by bus to Las Terrazas for a tour of the Las Terrazas Community, including Cafetal Buenavista visit. Meet with local farmers / workers in Callejon de la Moka. Las Terrazas is an ecotourism center situated in an area of around 5,000 hectares, in which a project of sustainable rural economy is being developed, based on the rational use of its natural resources for tourism. The buildings in the Las Terrazas Community have been designed to blend with their surroundings. The nearby ruins of French coffee plantations from the 19th century are an additional attraction. In the afternoon depart for Havana. Accommodation at Hotel Sevilla Havana. Dinner in your hotel.
Day 6 Havana to Trinidad
Breakfast at your hotel. Departure to Trinidad via Cienfuegos and Casa Campesina, south of Havana. On route visit The Livestock Company, Sierrita. Cienfuegos City is known as the ‘Pearl of the South’ due to the impressive beauty of its bay and elegant city architecture. Visit the exotic vegetation of the Botanical Garden of Cienfuegos, a park like setting of palms, orchids, bamboos and tropical plants. Next visit Casa Campesina, a replica of a traditional farmer’s dwelling, host to domestic plants and animals. Lunch not included. In the afternoon arrive in Trinidad and check into Hotel Ancon in Trinidad. Dinner at your hotel.
Day 7 Trinidad
Breakfast at your hotel. In the morning tour of the Historic Center of Trinidad including the Romantic Museum. Trinidad is an atmospheric mix of its colonial slavery past, unique architecture and a maze of narrow cobblestone streets. Located between high mountains and the Caribbean coast, the pure white sand and clean turquoise water inspires worldwide tourism to Trinidad. The old town architecture is a combination of red tiled roofs, pastel painted houses, ornamental balconies, iron wrought railings and multicolour facades. Afternoon free. Dinner at your hotel. Overnight Trinidad.
Day 8 Topes de Collantes
Breakfast at your hotel. Travel to the Great Natural Park Topes de Collantes, located in the Sierra del Escambray mountains. This park is characterized by steep peaks and deep valleys, natural species of flora and fauna, underground caves, crystal clear rivers and picturesque waterfalls. Visit Casa del Café to experience the taste of local coffee varieties. Guanay excursion and lunch. Return to the hotel. Dinner at hotel. Overnight Trinidad.
Day 9 Trinidad to Havana
Breakfast at your hotel. Day free in Havana. Dinner in your hotel.
Day 10 Trinidad to Havana
Departure for Havana via St Clara, known as the city of Che Guevera and site of the last battle in the Cuban Revolution in late 1958.
Day 11 Depart Havana
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer by coach to Havana airport for return flight to Dublin.
Day 12 Dublin
Arrive Dublin.
